Re: Maintaining the PLANNR file

You need to use the MAPICS browser. Let me include some information I do
have in my notes:

This file was introduced in XAR6 with the OBPM module. Prior to XAR6,
there was no editing of the planner number. Prior to XAR6 the planner
simply had to be numeric. XAR6 and above, if OBPM is installed, adding and
editing is done in the client. If you do not have client or OBPM, there
should be no problem using this field.

To see if OBPM is installed go to the tool bar within the MAPICS XA client
applications and select HELP

Entry and maintenance of planner numbers can be done in two places.
A. Within OBPM

To maintain planner numbers do the following:
1) Start the MAPICS XA Client application(s)
2) Locate PRODUCTION tab
3) Locate ORDER-BASED tab
4) Locate PLANNERS icon
5) Double-click on PLANNERS Icon
6) To enter a PLANNER number hit MAINTAIN / CREATE

B. Within Item Warehouse Maintenance
1) While within item warehouse maintenance locate Planner field (by
default it is on Item Characteristics card)
2) Click on 'Magnifying Glass' icon to the right of planner field
3) Hit continue to bring up list of existing Planners
4) Click on 'White piece of paper' icon to create a new planner
5) Enter planner number, planner name and other fields for planner that is
being created
6) After creating new planner select planner and go back to item warehouse
record being maintained

MPA does have a planner history file, and a planner description can be
entered into this file. However, other MAPICS applications do not use
this file.

Select 'About MAPICS XA'. If OBPM is not installed it will be grayed out.
