We have security groups based on the functional roles, e.g. Customer
Service, Planning, PDM, Purchasing etc. Loosely as per the module names,
but some functions, e.g. Planning may cover more than one module.
Within each functional area we have groups for Enquiry, Maintenance,
Transactions.
E.g. We have:
GRP_ENQSAL Sales enquiry group
GRP_MNTSAL Sales maintenance group
GRP_TRNSAL Sales transactions group
Each group then has the required authorisations allocated to them, and
the users are assigned to the necessary groups. The users have no
individual authority, everything is done through the groups.
We have a few of special groups, e.g. GRP_ACCESS to grant access to the
environment, GRP_MISADM all powerful IT group(!), GRP_MNTHLD COM orders
hold/release.
For IFM we just have three generic users (Security, Power, Enquiry) with
the required authorisations, and copy the relevant one when we require a
new user set up.

I am in need of revamping our security assignments to be more role-based
than user-specific, cherry-picked applications.
Has anyone created a matrix in Excel that lists all the menus,
functions, descriptions etc. that they would be willing to share?
Thanks!
