We have implemented role-based security by groups.
However, these may differ based on your resources and SOX requirements.
In some sites we can separate the functions, at other sites we combine the
functions
but have control checks.
The basic premise is as follows:
Security for a Material Planner Role
Define the group identifier @PLNRMNT (Maintenance or @PLNRPRC (No
maintenance, only processing rights)
Define the functions for @PLNRMNT
Add users to @PLNRMNT Group
Once you have finalized all groups and functions you can lock all menu options.
In this case we define a @GRPINQ where we provide
inquiry functions only in a specific group.
I hope this helps. Cntact me directly if you need more info.

I am in need of revamping our security assignments to be more role-based
than user-specific, cherry-picked applications.
Has anyone created a matrix in Excel that lists all the menus,
functions, descriptions etc. that they would be willing to share?
Thanks!
