Well, actually they care about WHO assigns them, and they don't think the
computer is competent, I suppose.... They have a procedure with a log book
and all kinds of stuff. And even though WE are in PA, the auditors (and
our parent company) is in CA. I figure THAT explains a LOT!!!

Gosh, Dale, yours care about how the number's assigned? Here they only
care about who can add customers and vendors, not how we assign IDs to
them. Maybe Pennsylvania auditors are different from Georgia ones...

Unless I misunderstood, they are asking for MAPICS to assign new customer
numbers and/or vendor numbers. My SARBOX auditor strictly restricts who
is
permitted to create customer and vendor numbers.

BTW - I do agree with the sequential numbering thing....
