You should be able to order any major brand laptop with Windows XP pro.
I have bought 4 Gateway laptops and 2 Dells within the past 2 months all
with XP pro. While Microsoft might want us to all embrace Vista, having
a small I.T. department (me) I am not ready to support another variable
into our mix.
I would also caution doing this with someone that is needing support
remotely. If you must go that route then at least get one for your self
in order to share the pain and hopefully have some way to trouble shoot
what your user is dealing with.
