How do I debug an RPG program in batch?
. Submit your program into batch and make sure it is held. Do
this
by either holding the job queue that you are submitting the job to, or
use
the HOLD(*YES) option on the SBMJOB command
. Use the WRKUSRJOB and display the job you with to debug with
the
display job option (5).
. Write down the user name, job name and number
. Start a service job using STRSRVJOB entering the name, job name
and
number from the previous step
. STRDBG PGM(YOURPGM) - Press F12 to exit the source display
(Sorry,
can't enter breakpoints yet)
. Release your submitted job by releasing the job queue or the job
itself
. A display will appear asking you to press F10 function key.
Press
F10 and you will be brought to a command line.
. Enter DSPMODSRC and enter your breakpoints.
. Leave source display and command line by pressing F3 until you
are
back to the screen that asks you to press F10 to enter breakpoints.
Press
Enter to start your job.
. After that the job begins running and stops at the first
breakpoint
reached.

If you need to debug a specific MAPICS browser job, open up the browser,
click on file>Summary Info > <CTRL> OK and a job information screen
appears
that allows you to copy/paste the job numbers into the above commands.

Hello Everyone,
I no longer have instructions on de-bugging an interactive XA program
(or batch, for that matter). Does anyone have any instructions, and if
they do, would you please forward to me? Thanks in advance,

Sincerely,
Olga Gunther

subject: [MAPICS-L] Ensuring Stock Is Allocated to a CO

We mfg to order and in some cases the pack configuration is special for
a
specific customer and order. For example we may have a special pallet
for
international shipments or pallet height for a specific CO. Since all
orders are for the same part number is there a way to ensure the stock
produced on a specific MO, entered by CO, is allocated only to the
intended order?

We currently have a series of manual processes that are not working well

to accomplish this.

If we cannot get our needs accomplished by other means we are about to
look into features/options as a possible solution (i.e. each
configuration
will be a different option). Before we go this route does this sound
reasonable if we stock configurations?
