I do not use the IBM debugger, but it should be very similar if you are.
Start a MAPICS session, enter the command to start the debugger ( I think
it is strdbg for the IBM version), enter the program name you want to
debug & tell it *Yes on the update production files. If you are running
in a production environment and do not say *yes, I am pretty sure it will
not display interactive screens. It has been a while since I have done a
debug without saying *yes.

Then set your breakpoint & then navigate to the menu option that will run
your program.

Batch jobs are more work to debug. For those you have to put the job-q on
hold where it will be running, submitt the job to batch. Get the job
name, number & user running it. Enter that info on the strdbg command,
set your breakpoint, then release the job-q to allow the job to run.

Subject
[MAPICS-L] Debugging a COM program in XA interactively....

Hello Everyone,
I no longer have instructions on de-bugging an interactive XA program
(or batch, for that matter). Does anyone have any instructions, and if
they do, would you please forward to me? Thanks in advance,

Sincerely,
Olga Gunther
