Greg, you COULD modify the screen source. I actually have done that on a
VERY basic screen - pre-loaded whse 1 into an MRP inquiry screen that
required the user to enter the item# and the warehouse. They do it many,
many times a day, and after thinking about it, I figured the screen would
most likely never be changed - it's too basic. So I changed it and put the
object in a library in front of AMALIB.
I'm a HUGE opponent of changing MAPICS, but in this case I did make an
exception. And it hasn't bitten me yet - and it's been in effect for many
years.
Of course, if you used Browser, you could avoid that and load a default
value....... that's your BEST solution!

I would like to load the value into the display file so the user has the
option of changing it or passing by it. It should already be on screen
AMVA6E1R when user gets there.

On option here would be to assign a database trigger to the physical
file. I do this on several files for similar reasons.
