Doug, I was away and missed some of this thread, but I think what you want to do could be done fairly easily with NetLink, and Enterprise Integrator. Might be a touch more pricey, but it would work and be "vanilla", which I have found over the years to be a useful thing to keep going (keeping things as vanilla as possible).
