I don't know if you are on R7 or not.  If on R7, you may want to
investigate System-Link.  System-Link is an XML based interface to all
of the Business Objects implemented in the Power Architecture.  For this
case, System-Link can be used to create or maintain any part of the PO.
It can also be used to process any of the supported transactions (VA, RP
etc) or perform host functions (print, etc).  When combined with
Enterprise Integrator, System-Link can also be used to maintain your
user extensions to the XA PO object.

We use the PO API's to create purchase orders... The offline load just
doesn't cut the mustard if you need the ability to do more than create a
purchase order with an item on it.

Take a look at the following programs: AMIAI10R, AMIAI01R, AMIAI02R and
AM6AI01R. There is some documentation for them, I just can't remember
where.
