Thanks for the link. We got lucky: hardware vendor agreed to take them off our hands cheaper than the cost of sending it to the computer recycling place! :) And now I have my space back...more valuable than the machine, that's for sure. When we got rid of the last two AS/400's we destroyed the hard disks because the machine was worth the same with or without the disks: $5. You can use DST to perform disk initialization, here's the IBM link: http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/slkbase.nsf/1ac66549a21402188625680b0002037 e/5f48b9883b62d0d386256807007b5b90?OpenDocument&Highlight=0,scratch If the link is wrapped, paste back together in notepad, then copy/paste to your browser. I do have fond memories of playing frisbee in the parking lot with the platters from our last CISC box...... -----mapics-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: ----- To: "MAPICS ERP System Discussion" <mapics-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> From: "Patrick Shrader" <pshrader@xxxxxxxx> Sent by: mapics-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx Date: 09/11/2006 11:38AM Subject: [MAPICS-L] Wipe iSeries disks??? We are officially retiring an old 310 and a 510 machine after several years of steady work. One thing I need to do is wipe the drives completely. Is there a command more "powerful" than dltlib that you are aware of? I'll be deleting the Mapics and custom libraries; I don't think the system will allow me to remove the "Q" libraries. Any suggestions?
