Mike,

This is how we handle our non-inventory items, we set them up as item type 4
with an inventory type of 2, no item balance record. When we receive them in,
we recieve to dock with qty and to stock with qty, but while receiving to stock
we leave the location field blank. This has worked for us and I'am pretty sure
you can do the same with item type 3's.

Subject: [MAPICS-L] Misc Items - Inventory Type 2 or 3

9/6

A how to question on Inventory Type 2. I would like to set up some item type 3
items as Inventory Type 2 and not create an item balance record. However, when
one of these Inventory type 2 item is on a PO and is at the dock, I would like
to do a transaction that would identify to AP that the material has been
received.

Is there a way to do this.

TIA
