I hear what you're saying, but typically the case is that
the locations are correct, but the ITEMBL is wrong.

This is often the case with raw material (issued by the foot) and
bulk plastic components that 'no one ever counts'.

Thanks for responding.

Using DFU to maintain the On hand balance is a no no. Increase or
decrease the location balance Using the Location maintenance option. It
will create an LA transaction.

Subject: [MAPICS-L] SOX and Essentials

Greeting all!

One of the areas of Green-Screen that lacks functionality was logging, or
maintenance history. Most modules only support 'last changed by'
and that doesn't tell you what the person changed!

I was thinking of including the maintenance logging capability of Browser
as a SOX advantage - now that we looking to implement SOX controls.

Would anyone using Integrator and SOX agree, or am I stretching it here?

For example, changing the Item Balance file's On-Hand Quantity when
the Location Quantity Audit has errors. Currently we use DFU at Month
End,
not a good practice under SOX.

Thanks, I look forward to your comments!
