Why not call the COM Shipment transaction processor program? I use it for
updating many transaction types within IM. It does an immediate update with
no batches required.

The input parameters are: the XA LDA 1024 bytes, the external datastructure
for INTRAN, a 1 byte blank character, a 70 byte blank error message, a 1
byte application id (I) and a blank Shutdown code. It would look something
like this.

CALL AMBCBUPC PARM(&XALDA &DSINTRAN &ERRCODE &ERRNUMBER &APPID &SHUTDOWN)

Two of my customers do not have PM&C but we still can process barcodes by
writing our own stuff. Works great. The only catch besides not having any
batches is that the transactions are listed in the COM Inventory Transaction
Register. I have not seen any other issues but there may be some that we
have not yet come across.
