Hi Shawn,

While you initialize the tape, please try to give a volume name! It helps...

I setup a scheduled job to run a savlib using the save while active but
I'm receiving the error

Volume *N on device TAP01 wrong type. Volume on device TAP01 is the
wrong type for *SL file Qsystap in qsys. A standard label volume is
required for a *SL or *BLP file.

Hello Group,

We are running MAPICS XAR6 using COM. We are seeing a growing number of
customers wanting to place orders on credit cards. To date we have been
manually processing the credit card approvals. I would like to start
gathering information about Credit Card interfaces with the AS/400 and
MAPICS. Has anyone developed or purchased a MAPICS specific interface
and are you happy with the performance of the interface? Any
information would be greatly appreciated.

Doug

Hi Shawn,

A couple of thoughts:

1. Ensure that the tape is formatted before each save. This can be done in
your CL.
2. Ensure that the tape is large enough, or that the drive enables
multi-tape spanning.

On another note, if you are using this method for backup of MAPICS, please
be aware of the limitations of this method. Also, ensure that you perform a
MAPICS recovery test to ensure that you in fact can backup your system using
this method.

Schuur Solutions developed such a product. We do not accept plastic, so
we have not used it.
