Well, THAT'S an interesting tidbit of information..... It's about 10% of the functionality of the PLM I created. You may want to find out which PLM version it is. AVP is most interesting. I've implemented it in a number of locations and it works very well. Best feature, consuming forecast! (using just the MRP forecast files!!) The full version of thruput is a very powerful application that provides full "capability to promise" functions. AVP does not do this. I also understand that Infor has an equivalent product in there Lilly line that they just announced was going to be there core planning product. Once the sale of MAPICS completes, we will need to watch this carefully as Infor has announced they there strategy is to select only one application from each of their product lines and eliminate duplicate applications. Depending on other conflicts, I will try to attend that one. Someone recently asked about AVP. I believe I noticed a session on AVP vs. APSI vs MRP. APSI is the new name for the ThruPut application, aka SCM. It's in the PLM product. I'm looking for some ideas. I contacted global support; however, they indicated this currently cannot be done using MAPICS commands...they are looking at a future enhancement. We would like to link from our intranet to the MAPICS product structure. Ideally, we would like to locate the desired part number in an existing intranet application and then either pull the product structure (dynamically) into the intranet application or launch a Browser instance and open the product structure. Either option is better than our current process. Any thoughts or guidance on previous ideas or successes is appreciated.
