here's what we do. Minimum buy 1000 piece component
Production run 800 units.
We put the quantity per on the unit BOM @ 1.25 of component. This way it gets
costed properly & inventory gets relieved to zero & then discard the
components without any transaction or financial impact as that the cost of the
discarded component is in the unit financials.
The is a simple example, but it can be done for any percentage of write-off.
