Michael is correct. For those of you trying to sell forms solutions, don't. At least not unless you have specific instance that you can share. In IFM you will need to define two different objects. First, you will need to define a new value format. This includes the currency symbol, positioning and when you want the currency symbol to "float" and whether or not you want leading characters like "*". Second, you will need to define a new forms time (i.e. UKCHECK) that references the value format. Thus your checks can print like this: £************************************1,987.02 As for the text, IFM is different and generally does not include a text conversion. However, you can modify the program UAH3PFR which generates the UAH3PFRD print file. The first question is the "question" continuing the requirement for a text conversion. Most banking system do not require this for computer generated settlements. Think electronic payment methods instead of printed checks. Obviously the electronic payment methods do not require text conversions. If you find that it is required. It's a very simple program mod to the above mentioned code. I hope this is helpful. The way we solved (I think it's pretty typical in IFM) is that we used a different document type when we do the check run. Associated with the document type definition record is a print program. we wrote that to actually generate our checks in Mexico. Obviously similar problems (words are in Spanish instead of English). If you find you need help with the process, you could call me. I can't help much personally, but one of my team members can help. Michael G. Ellis Information Systems International, Inc. We have a requirement to print checks for both the US and the UK. Currently, we only print for the US. The UK format appears to be a lot different both in the layout and the way words are spelled for the amount on the check (e.g. One hundred and seventy five pounds and forty five pence only . Also, the words for the amount are written on 2 lines. Another change is the date needs to be dd month yy (21 March 05) I haven't been able to find anything on the archives and mapics says we will need to modify UAH3PFR ourselves because of all the UK variations(?). Thank you in advance for any advice of assistance you can give on this. ------------------------------ message: 2 date: Mon, 21 Mar 2005 11:49:45 -0600 from: "Sutton, Gary" <Gary.Sutton@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> subject: RE: IFM - UK Check Format UK - check format, You might want to consider using a forms overlay program to create the different formats and graphics for each different check.
