MAPICS provides a copy from disk to tape option.  You
can schedule an overnight backup and then copy from
disk to tape in the morning.  You will need sufficient
disk space.

MAPICS create savefiles on disk for the backup to disk
option.  You could then FTP the save files, in binary
mode, to a Windows or Unix platform and then clear the
savefiles.
