Pete, I mistyped... that command only gives you a list of the QAUD* journals on your system (not all journals on your system). We delete these regularly. For any others beginning with a 'Q' maybe call IBM. But for sure we delete these particular ones. We also have done the *GEN on the MAPICS MPXJRN journal because it has filled up during the week (we do IBM save-while-active backup during the week and MAPICS backup on weekend). Then do: WRKJRNRCV JRNRCV(library name - probably QSYS, although ours is different)/QAUD*) This will give you a list of all journal receivers on your system. You can delete them and do not need a dedicated system for any of this. If you haven't backed them up, you will get a message that they have not been saved C I are your only responses. If you do not care if they are backed up give it an I. You will get this message for each journal receiver. This is not mapics.... But some of you guys are pretty sharp when it comes to the 400. What my problem is. Per the PRTDSKINF command I have determined that my journals & journal receivers are over 35% of my dasd... The biggest one is the system audit journal... Does anyone know how (what steps ) to detach the receiver, attach a new receiver and delete the old one. Do I need a dedicated system? What kind of problems can this cause. Any other things I need to be aware of .. Thanks in advance Pete
