Automated Buy Card is from Mid-Range systems. It is still support. But is not needed if you have the procurement and materials management Client Architecture applications at R6 or R7. Electronic Kanban has been in MAPICS as a standard part of the application since the release of REP. It is also supported by interface with HighJump's MAPICS suite and has been since I implemented it in 1988. For those of us old enough to rememeber. ;-) .... Before there was Lean there was JIT! If you have a real requirement for 5S you owe it to yourself to check out the applications. Maybe Mapics is looking for an electronic KanBan bolt on I'd love to know how many of you are thinking about that and the whole Lean Mfg. thing. How many have already started 5S. We are just starting to look into it. We are planning the upgrade to R7 and ran across a library ABCMD9 in the library list when signing onto the environment. I inquired with MAPICS and they say its not theirs, after reviewing some of the programs in the library it appears it might be some sort of third party program for MAPICS.
