Bryan, I have a simple spreadsheet that queries the Jobact table using MS query and creates a pivot table of the concurrent users. It includes the 5250 jobs as well as the client Qzdasoinit jobs and eliminates the batch and group jobs. I have been using it to monitor the concurrent use on our system for sometime with the same probable objective that you have, switch to concurrent user pricing. MAPICS likewise gave us a sanity price for upgrading our hardware. Check with me offline and I will send it to you. -----Original Message----- From: Burns, Bryan [mailto:burnsbm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 3:23 PM To: MAPICS ERP System Discussion Subject: RE: Query of concurrent users Thanks Ron. I know some CL but I am not a programmer so I may ask someone here to make use of the API. Before I do however, do you know why WRKLICINF shows usage type *Concurrent with 174 users but if I query a count of names in JOBACT the result is 132? Although there are indeed about 174 records in JOBACT, MAPICS says that multiple sessions on the same workstation count as only one license for concurrent user licenses. Many of our users use two or three sessions on the same PC which should count as one license each. I am investigating this because we currently have tier based pricing and MAPICS gave us a ridiculous license quote if we upgrade our hardware. -----Original Message----- From: Ron [mailto:Ron_H@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 2:03 PM To: mapics-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Query of concurrent users You can use the API QLZARTV to get the current license count. I wrote a program that does this every 15 minutes and writes the info to a file. It's pretty straightforward unless you're actually trying to get a list of the current users with licenses checked out.
