Ron,

Major stuff in R7 - there was drool all over the floor in Phil Joseph's
sessions. But that's typical. (Those Paragon guys are sort of scary.)
They also covered the upcoming and new enhancements to the current
applications - the stuff can be checked on the support.mapics.com web
site.
They also spent a couple sessions covering the timeline for upcoming
major
stuff (CSM Kitting, etc).

Major kudos are due to the handful of early R7 adopters who bled freely
for
the rest of us in cleaning up the implementations. Lots and lots of
stuff
on that, from MAPICS, from affiliates (Doug Bulla had an excellent
session), and from the customers themselves. And MAPICS was really up
front about the problems, and that they were fixed. No marketing fluff
-
the sessions were done by technoids. Really excellent. I took pages of
notes.

Dave Colvin had several excellent "how to performance tune Browser",
covering R7 and R6 both (should also help on R5).

Cool new support stuff (new ACSAPPLY options and such).

The presentations will be available on the MAPICS web site soon (if not
already).

They expected about 900 attendees, they ended up with about 1,400. The
place was packed. Seemed to be fairly evenly split between Syteline and
MAPICS ERP for iSeries people.

Lots of vendor stuff shown in the Expo Center.

I personally thought this was one of the best conferences they've had.
I
attended sessions at every time period, and missed many that I would
have
liked to have seen. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to be in 4
places at once yet...... :)

Wondering if those who were lucky enough to attend MPower would share
what
"new and exciting" developments were discussed at the conference?

Thanks

We use MPSP as a more convenient method of loading the Master Schedule
into
MRP, and of getting the data in a more easily-accessible format for
inquiry
and reporting.

Our master scheduler would like to discuss the use of MPSP
with some other folks. We have been using MPSP in a very
focused way for many years and now we would like to branch out.
We are a discrete manufacturer.
We are on R6.
