Tim, I don't have any experience with BRMS or advanced scheduler. Just be aware that Mapics does some house cleaning when you run the Mapics Backup(batches, trdata). So you would need to include in you custom backup if you don't do Mapics backup.. R6 mapics now includes the scheduling function. Shutsdown any active sessions, including browser. I have a couple of customers running the R6 backup.. Seems to be working fine...It just puts an entry on the AS/400 job scheduler. Hope this helps Pete Olshavsky Ind Mapics Programmer/Systems Analyst Tim.Bertnick@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: Good morning - does anyone have experience using either IBM's BRMS product or Advanced Scheduler to perform MAPICS nightly backups? - we are at version 5.5 of MAPICS & also have the Paperless data collection module, which means ending subsystems for the backup would not be allowable - any hints or suggestions would be appreciated, especially if CL programs would be required to make BRMS/advanced scheduler work, or if version 6.0 offers any improvements re: MAPICS backups - thanks!! - Tim Bertnick with Plymouth Products in Sheboygan, WI. _______________________________________________ This is the MAPICS ERP System Discussion (MAPICS-L) mailing list To post a message email: MAPICS-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/mapics-l or email: MAPICS-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/mapics-l. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
