This was a simple and elegant solution. I'd also suggest using the MAPICS report writer tools if you have them. InfoWorkplace, Valet and Jacana. We've implemented them many times and have replaced most of the "standard" packaged reports at one time or other. The really nice feature of the toolset, related to the particular problem of a run away report, is that you can setup by user, group of users or report how and when you'd allow them to run. In other words, if the report is submitted by Employee A and will take 1 hr to run, then run at night; if submitted by Employee B then run immediately in interactive mode; if submitted by Employee C, then prevent running the report. It is a simple and elegant solution, just like the one that Ann submitted. Way to go Ann. We took the enhancement and commented out 2 lines of code. Now the 'Warning' no longer allows a submit. Gives a warning message that no limits have been entered. I believe that if both the "from" and "to" aren't populated, no report should be written instead of the other assumption that all records should be written to a report. This is another of those jobs that when you try to kill it, it resubmits itself. Is there any place to turn off the 'resubmit' function? We currently have disabled the menu option but we have some valid users. Thanks, Bonnie Lokenvitz Engineered Polymers _______________________________________________ This is the MAPICS ERP System Discussion (MAPICS-L) mailing list To post a message email: MAPICS-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/mapics-l or email: MAPICS-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/mapics-l. _______________________________________________ This is the MAPICS ERP System Discussion (MAPICS-L) mailing list To post a message email: MAPICS-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/mapics-l or email: MAPICS-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/mapics-l.
