I applied the PTF Sh62874

But have never been able to get past the Error Message:


                      USER MESSAGE DISPLAY
           JOB AMZM41-01  (AXZPU1) INITIATED
 E AM-0937 PROGRAM MALFUNCTION


After I select unatended, select which days, and hit return...

MAPICS wants me (Of course to apply the very latest PCM's, even though I'm
way past the PTF's pre-req level of 2244!!!

Any Ideas???

Lloyd,

The first thing you want to do is get the PCM that allows the backup to
be scheduled automatically.  Once you have that there are options to
have MAPICS close batches and end Browser sessions that are causing your
backup to fail.  I also run a pre-backup program to end QINTER so there
is no chance a user is still signed on.  Let me know if you can't find
the PCM and I will dig it up for you.

I sure would like some advice on how to get a MAPICS backup to work
without me being there to monitor what it chokes on.  EVERY time I have
set it up as unattended, I have come back to find that a batch was
closed, not finished(which does not make sense since we as tailored to
post immediately), someone was logged on, Browser session still active,
etc.

Does anyone have any pointers to send my way???

Steve,

Why don't you want to use the MAPICS backup?  My only problem with it
was that it had to be scheduled all the time, but that has been fixed
now and it works great.  We actually save to disk, then a post backup
program saves AMSLIB and other libraries to tape.

Anyone NOT running MAPICS version of saving the libraries?  If so how do
you clear the batches from A/R, Inventory, etc?  We would like to just
issue a cl command to save the libraries instead of trying to use the
one from cross-apps.
