Greg, that would work, but do you do a date identification on your tapes? I put 'MAPICSmmddyy' in the Owner ID for each tape. I know you can get it by looking at the objects on the tape, but I like the identification. Dale Gindlesperger IT Manager/Special Projects Leader Fleetwood Folding Trailers, Inc. The INZTAP is at the beginning of my CLP for the backup. When the second tape is needed and the CPA 4278 message is issued, it is answered automatically by an OS400's reply list entry. See WRKRPYLE. Greg -----Original Message----- From: Burns, Bryan [mailto:burnsbm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, October 20, 2003 9:01 AM To: MAPICS-L (E-mail) Subject: Back ups with Magstar 3570 Anybody out there doing back ups to a Magstar 3570 with two tapes? If so, how do you initialize the second tape? Although I have specified MAPICS to initialize all tapes in CAS screen AXZU93, MAPICS only initializes the first tape. I must manually initialize the second tape and if I forget (like I did very recently), the back up is going to hang with a CPA4278 message (active file found on this volume) until someone answers the message, which could be many hours. Anyone have a solution to this? Thanks in advance for any replies.
