Did I start some sort of forms war here? Sorry.

Greg - you are exactly right. No one can be everything to everybody -
that's why competition exists. Each developer has their own methodology and
"better idea". Find one that suits your needs and can support your business
requirements.

-Greg

LEts face it. All the major e-forms players can print forms and checks
using GUI design tools. The buy decision gets to one on ongoing support and
an attitude of anticipating future trends and customer needs. Just like
the ERP decisions which led acquisition of Mapics or another package.
Choose the vendor who is working as if a member of your support team...

Greetings everyone,

Formtastic should be in the mix as well, especially since we're a MAPICS
Certified Partner (we being Quadrant Software). If anyone is interested, I'm
interviewing Dura-Last Roofing for a case study about how they use our
forms, checks, and fax solution (FastFax). That interview will happen this
Friday. If you'd to get the case study then email me offlist and I'll put
you down for an advanced copy.

Formtastic is native to the 400 and uses a split screen GUI that allows you
to work with the actual spool file and the WYSIWIG design at the same time.
The user has control over every element of the check (logos, signature,
MICR, all check fields) and can see what's happening in the spool file at
the same time. You can make changes in either screen.

The solution also includes tons of security features ranging from centrally
managed authorities to Positive Pay and lots inbetween. On the subject of
security, we're partners with TROY printers (HP), so we can get you set up
with a printer, check paper, MICR toner, and all the fixin's. Xerox, IBM,
and Lexmark check printers also work great with Formtastic.

Formtastic outputs TIF, PDF, and we've just finished custom integrations
with document imaging / archiving vendors including Gauss, RVI, and
Vanguard. So, there's lots going on. The best place to get the most
information is right here:

Cheers,
John Harvey
