Mark, In case you're into reading the books - in the IM User's Guide Appendix E there are transaction update tables. So the table will show you which transactions update which fields in a series of files (Item Balance, MO Master, MO Detail, Location Quantity, and Allocation Quantity. You need an eye chart to read them - but they can be valuable. Also it helps to know that this field is used to get to an "available" quantity. So I can take on hand (MOHTQ)for a production item, plus on order production (MPRPQ) plus on order purchase (MPUPQ) minus manufacturing allocations (MALQT - production allocations from upper level MO's) minus customer allocations (PLREQ) to get to "available". The customer order allocations ("on order" for COM) are stored in the pick list requirements field (PLREQ). The PLREQ is the field that increases when a customer order is allocated and decreases (along with on hand) when it is shipped. Dee A. Sondergard Information Systems International, Inc.
