Change REP Due Date

Hi List,     We have a need to update the scheduled start date and order due
date for status 40 REP
schedules in the momast file with a program. This means adjusting  the required
date in modata,
and maybe some more adjustments. It looks like the MAPICS program that handles
this is AMQ4N.
Should my program change the fields in momast and call AMQ4N to handle modata?
Is there a
better way? What are the gotchas? I hope someone has addressed this problem, and
can give
me some guidance.
