Howdy - I knew keeping 10,000+ e-mail messages would prove useful someday!!!
;-)

A followup question - and I need the answer yesterday! (nach) Steve, what do
you do about creating the transaction numbers? If you leave the field blank,
does TRDATA processing generate the "next" number needed, or do you have a
number series that you use to populate the transaction number as you
populate the TRDATA records?

Management (I am avoiding adjectives at the moment) have decided to have
employees hand record labor transactions and have some hapless data entry
clerk punch them into PM&C. I've just "practiced" this, and it is a real
pain in the (anatomical part). Need to put together an Access or SQL
front-end data entry screen to jam the transactions into TRDATA for
processing....

        As always, thanks! -- Joan

We do create inventory transactions, but we do not call AMI3G directly. We
populate TRDATA with what necessary info & then do a Call 'QSNDDTAQ' PARM
PDQJUB

PDQJUB looks like this:

PDQJUB PLIST
              PARM 'DQJUB' QNAME 10
              PARM '*LIBL' QLIBR 10
              PARM 1 QFLDL 5 0
              PARM '1' QFIEL 1

We have the unattached jobs running.

Does anyone out there have any sample custom code that calls program AMI3G
to create a transaction?

Thanks for any assistance. _______________________________________________
