Normally, all modified MAPICS programs should be placed into a separate
library that is above the MAPICS AMALIBx. I would also suggest that users
also apply PTFs to either the same library or to another library like
AMAPTFx.

With regards to logical files over MAPICS files, I create them in the same
library as the physical file. I don't like splitting logicals and
physicals. In a restore situation, you can get yourself caught in a bind
if the logical is restored prior t othe physical based on library name.

Here is a sample library list that I would suggest. The library names can
be whatever standards of the customer requires.

AMAMODS Modified MAPICS Programs/Objects
AMAPTF MAPICS PTFs (Not cumulative PTF packs, just downloads)
AMALIB

During a PTF process, you would of course have to look in AMAMODS, AMAPTF
prior to applying any PTF. If the program is in AMAMODS, then you have
work to reapply the changes to the new source. If the PTF is in AMAPTF, I
would copy that object into AMALIB prior to replacing it in AMAPTF.

The reason that I do this is to allow for a "rollback" of a bad PTF. Also,
before apply a Cumulative PTF Package, I copy all the AMAPTF objects into
AMALIB and clear out the AMAPTF.
