EPDM, another issue;

Just in case you are un-aware, if you are using or looking to use Rev level support, the STD cost (b-rec) gets zeroed during a copy, i.e. rev level bump. The unit cost default remains. lets assume for a minute you are using the init cost def to value inv. :

You will need to re-roll the new rev level item STD,(B-rec) because you may have a 'new item' that uses the new rev part as a component, and if you didnt roll the new REVed component it would be valued @ -0- for the new item you just created. Acct will not want you to chg the 'unit cost def' though, ; 'inv value'.

This gets particularly tricky when you end up opening an MO for the new item , and the component gets issued at the 'old- unit cost def' ,
no matl variance. But, the MO gets credited with the new STD matl content when you receive the new item into inv. the diff is 'Order Variance' due to BOM chgs

hope this helps

Maybe yes maybe no.
What we do overhere is roll current to standard at the beginning of the
year.
Standards cost are not allowed to change during the year.
Only when creating new items standards has to be set up.
The goal is to get lower currents at the end of the year. (Purchase etc.)
So it's is very importants that standards can't be changed.
We don't want that people fool around with cost to reach their goal.
Ofcourse we make a download of al items (over 40.000 items) at the beginning
of the year which we can use for cheking standards during the year.
For us it would be more easy to make it impossible that standards can be
changed.
