Pete, Just one caution, well actually two. 1) Some jobs have predicate steps so you can't hold the middle step... ie calculate paychecks, print paychecks. Would not want to hold the calculate step. 2) Through JOBACT and CNFLCT some batch jobs would immediately prohibit other MAPICS tasks. So even though you submit it for later execution MAPICS would think it was still active or pending. But for long reports and other tasks it would work. Maybe everyone is or was aware of this.... But I just found this out myself... I believe there was some talk as to being able to schedule various Mapics jobs... Something to try until mapics decides to make that available in many more tasks then they currently have.. If you hold the qbatch job queues.. Qbatch - Qbatch6.. (depends on what you have setup to use in that env.). Go to the menu and run the option or options that you want... Do a wrkjobq and find your task... If you put a 2 on it, cmd 10(additional parms) roll to next page.. There is a schedule date and scheduled time... Change those to let's say a Saturday at Midnight.. They would then process at the specified time.. (don't forget to release the jobq) I ran several test and it does not appear to affect the backup.. If you already knew this, Sorry to bother.. else I hope this would be of value To all,,,,, Have a Happy Holiday Season Pete Olshavsky Ind Mapics Programmer/Systems Analyst -- _______________________________________________ This is the MAPICS ERP System Discussion (MAPICS-L) mailing list To post a message email: MAPICS-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/mapics-l or email: MAPICS-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/mapics-l.
