Value class is a user-controlled field - MAPICS does not populate this
field. The intended use is for you to run an ABC analysis report, decide
where to draw the line between A items, B items, etc, then manually load
the classification code into the Value Class fields for your items.

Value class also does not control or trigger other changes. If you want
Days of Supply, Safety Stock or Cycle Count fields to change when Value
Class changes, you'll have to write a program or use a DFU or other utility
to scan the value class and update the other fields accordingly. Or change
them manually.

Hello,
We're trying to use the Value Class field to control the amount of
inventory we handle. I've seen this working in other systems and is updated
by the system depending of the amount you have for a part number. Does this
work the same way in MAPICS?
Another question. Can Days of supply, Safety Stock, and Cycle Count
change when Value Class changes?
