John, you can do the override within the RPG, just make the F-spec of the prtf to UC (user controlled). Then do the ovrprtf using call QCMD with the necessary parms. After this issue the opcode OPEN filename and at end of program just do a CLOSE filename. This always works for me. Within Mapics i think the standard override logic works in the user exits as well, but i am not 100% sure.
