Lisa,
<clip>
 What size AS400 are you on, how many
users and are you using "user based" licensing?
<clip>

We have several locations working together on the R7 Pilot. The Pilot is
currently running on an 820 but my location has a 720 running 100 concurrent
users.

I think the big issue with the box size is the mix of applications you plan
on using. At the conference (IIRC), it was stated that if you continue to
run the same client apps that you are running at R6.0, you should be able to
run with existing hardware. The biggest jump in resource requirements
appears to be if you plan on running NetLink. This makes sense in that you
are now moving the portion of the application currently running on the
client back to the server. New jobs such as the HTTP Server and WebSphere
Application Server will impact performance.

Many folks seem to be excited about NetLink because they envision not having
to load the client and/or Client Access Express but as long as part of the
system is running in "green", NetLink is more of a nice to have in my
opinion. At the conference, they also said the update portion of NetLink
was not ready.

I'll keep you updated!
Lisa
