Dave -

Actually, we're on CA Express V4R5M0, and he says that he's not dual-booting
into Win98 any more. The issues were with the old Client Access before we
upgraded OS/400 last year, so I misspoke earlier. Still not going to W2K,
however; with XP out so soon after W2K was launched, we doubt the support
for W2K will be there for very long, and as long as we can still get NT4.0
workstation, we'll wait until XP is ready for "prime time" or until Bill
Gates figures out a way to remotely disable anything that isn't XP!

Joan,

Is he trying to make the old Client Access V3R2M0 run on W2K? The current
version of Client Access Express runs very well on it. The old one isn't
even supported, and IBM says it probably won't work.

We have one PC running W2K, and he's (Network Admin, so it's not a hopeless
end-user) having all sorts of trouble with the Client Access product and W2K
compatibility issues; so, NO, no W2K or XP for us for now. -- Joan

Make that W2K, not NT4. :)

Kenny -

By all means, make sure you're keeping up with all PTF's on both the AS/400
and the client side for EPDM. If you're still getting the errors (which I
suspect you will be), you likely need more memory in the PC's and/or
upgrade
to NT 4.0 workstation.

Good luck -- Joan

We're having constantly having non-continuable protection violation errors
occurring on the Mapics Browser 4.0 in the EPDM Module. It's happening
mostly when users are creating a Bill of Material. The machines are Windows
98 and no virus protection software is running. Thanks for your input.
