Manually maintaining the MPSP MSI orders was, to be kind, a major pain. We actually develop our MSI schedule with an application outside of MAPICS, and when it is approved, we load it to MPSP with an application we developed to do an off-line load of MPSP Master Scheduled Items. Our process deletes all the scheduled/planned orders from MSIORD items for the specified planners, then "loads" the MSIORD file from the off-line schedule. (We also use Lotus Notes to show the off-line schedule to our Regional Sales Managers, a pretty slick app). I submitted a request for future enhancement to MAPICS for them to add an off-line load capability to MPSP. I have no idea if it will ever happen, but I can't imagine that you and I are the only customers with that need. If you'd like to see the code we developed for the load, I can e-mail it to you. Currently we are using the green screen version which is not really very user friendly for our schedulers. Is anyone aware of better ways of entering/maintaining this information?
