If your only reason for rewriting is to make dates "intelligible", you can do a lot in Query to handle displaying the dates correctly. If you add 19,000,000 to a seven digit cyymmdd MAPICS date, you can then use substring and concatenation operators to create a calculated result field which displays as mm/dd/yyyy. Or, use the operators to rearrange the cyymmdd date into mm/dd/yy sequence and remember that you sort using the original cyymmdd date format (which you then hide from being output using the column editing functions) to guarantee handling the century.
