Am I overlooking something? I sell the same basic item in various sizes (S, M, L, etc.) We have created an item object in for each of these different sizes (three sizes = three item numbers). However, on sales reports that are created externally (in house), users would like to group all of these item sizes into one basic item number. I can create an external grouping file that can do this, but is there is a way within the MAPICS database structure to refer to a parent item number? How are others accomplishing this? Is anyone using the "feature & options" component of MAPICS to do this? What are the advantages/disadvantages of setting up the items with features & options? I appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thanks!
