RE: UPS Tracking Number

Tim,

I have integrated the same functionality with a Pitney Bowes, Ascent system
for UPS/FedEx Ground packages.

We use a multi-stage procedure: 
1) using the User Exit at Pick-List Print, create a physical file that
includes data content of the Pick Header, 
2) enable ODBC access to this file on your AS/400 for your Shipping
subsystem to retrieve P.O. number, 
        Pick number, MAPICS Order number, Addressee information, etc.
3) enable download of the daily manifest contents of your Shipping Subsystem
to another physical file on the 
        AS/400 after daily close-out,
4) process the Shipping Subsystem Manifest data (including tracking number,
shipping weight, number of 
        cartons, freight charges, etc.) via Off-Line Shipment Processing.
        NOTE:  MAPICS has recently made this feature available... check
eInfo for details.  We have been using
                        an add-on package from Custom Systems Corporation
(the MAPICS EC programming/support 
                        group) that works very well.
