Tom,

We have EIS installed on our system, but have not been able to use it
properly. The documentation on the product (XA 5) is very sparse -- it is
the help file. I have been told that you have to let it collect data for
several months before it is usable. Even so, I have been very hesitant about
rolling it out to my executive's desktop because of the cumbersome nature of
the product.

I have been in touch with MAPICS/Lexel about some tutorials, hut at the time
they did not have anything to help me. Their support team was willing to
answer specific questions about the product, but I needed a broad overview
to better understand how to implement the product. I suppose the only way to
properly learn the product is to sit around a play with it. Like most, I
have not had any time in the past 6 months to do that. The disappointing
thing about the product is that it was supposed to make MAPICS data easier
to understand and interpret for non-technical executives who need
information in a hurry.

I hope that the revamped version 6 (at least I hope it was revamped) is an
easier to use product.

If anyone out there has some documentation or training guides on EIS, I'd
sure appreciate some tips as well.

Patrick
