        XA 5.5 is a "in between" release. It's purpose is, to release some
new functionality for Sales Force Automation (SFA / "Front Office"). The SFA
is a new application that was aqquired from Trilogy.  MAPICS XA Rel 5.5 is
there to provide some integration between MAPICS and the SFA product.
Unless you're going to use the new SFA application, there's no need to go to
R 5.5, just go to R 6.0 when ready.  They needed a release so they can say
that there is a SFA available with some level of integration.  The promise
is that there will be more integration when XA 6.0 is released.

        I receiving the MAPICS E:Info e-mail and it mentions release 5.5 of
XA.  What's this?  I hadn't heard about it.  Don't see anywhere on the
MAPICS website that talks about it or gives instructions for ordering it. 
Anyone know what this is?
