We use 13-period accounting with the old Accounting Management GL, so we have to be vigilant to keep CURHIS at less than a year. One of my pet peeves is that when using 13-period accounting there's no provision for maintaining a fiscal year identifier - I complained about that in 1988 (MAPICS II for the /38), and it's STILL that way! Grrr... Inventory transaction history is currently kept for at least a year - the users would like more, but it's too darn big. COM shipment history kills us, we try to keep it under 6 months. It's not often used, anyway, since we have a custom sales history/analysis system that is much more compact. We don't do VAT or sales tax, so we blow the tax history file away completely and don't bother keeping it off-line. Manufacturing order and Purchase order history are kept for 2 to 3 years. AR and AP history are small enough that we haven't archived them yet - 8 years and counting. --- Dave Shaw, General Nutrition, Greenville, SC To subscribe to the MAPICS-l mailing list send email to MAPICS-L-SUB@midrange.com The opinions expressed may not be my employer's unless I'm sufficiently persuasive... +--- | This is the MAPICS Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MAPICS-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MAPICS-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MAPICS-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: dshaw1@infoave.com +---
