The latest versions of my custom built Soekris boxes...

I have recompiled custom kernels. That's really geek work.

I actually built a couple of network appliances built on the Soekris
platform and Fedora Core 4 for some special switching/routing needs of
one particular customer and that involved rebuilding the kernel for the
Soekris box.

It's not something you have to really do any more... The latest versions
of my custom built Soekris boxes are with the stock Fedora 8 kernel
build, as a matter of fact, we loaded it right off the iso using PXEBOOT
straight to the CF card on the Soekris with a serial console attached...
through minicom on the desktop. Pure joy.

On a similar note, I have never had to recompile the Linux kernel. I shy
away from almost all things that require recompiling unless I REALLY
want/need it.
