The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Anybody running the IBM 5250 emulator under Ubuntu?
Yes - why?
Because last time I looked it was distributed as an RPM which does not
install immediately under Ubuntu. I'd like to hear experiences in
making it install, and if it is as good as the Windows version.
I converted it using alien and install libmotif since the deb doesn't
resolve dependencies, and it works just jim dandy.
e.g. sudo aptitude install libmotif3
sudo alien -ckv iSeriesAccess*.rpm
sudo dpkg -i iseriesaccess*.deb
I don't have much experience with the Windows version, and the Windows
version has many more options (e.g. file transfer), but the Linux
version runs just great on our machines here.
I kinda don't fit in on this list :-) I'm no programmer (past Hello
World in various *nix scripting languages), and know next to nothing
about iSeries - but I've been admin for a bunch of linux & Mac
desktops and a couple servers for several years now. As we're
becoming more involved with iSeries I'm trying to pick up bits and
pieces as I go along.
