What is your setup for doing RPG development in Linux, RDi in Wine? RPG
Next Gen?

Hi Gene,

I thought I would respond in a new thread.

- I use RPGNextGen as my editor (www.rpgnextgen.com). It has fewer features
than WDSC/RDi, but it has my favorite features which are viewing many lines
of code at once, color coding, and all of the things you get with a PC
editor (i.e. copy, paste, undo, etc)

- I use the "System Debugger" to graphically debug my RPG/C applications
running on the IBM i. This is a hidden gem in the JT400 toolbox. (screen
shot: http://mowyourlawn.com/temp/SystemDebugger.png)

- I use tn5250j (http://tn5250j.sourceforge.net) to do my green screen stuff
(i.e. WRKACTJOB, admin stuff, spool file viewing, compiling, etc). I have
used System i Access for Linux but found it to have more issues than I am
willing to try and work out.

- I use SquirrelSQL to view DB2/400 table data.
http://squirrel-sql.sourceforge.net

- I use VirtualBox (http://www.virtualbox.org) to run an instance of Windows
so I can go to RDi/WDSC when/if I want to. This is how I make it work to
exist in a Windows environment. I also need Windows so I can use
GoToMeeting and Camtasia Studio.

- I use ZendStudio for i to develop PHP. Zend Studio is now based on
Eclipse (it wasn't a number of years ago).

Thats what I can think of off the top of my head. What are others using?
