Sourceforge isn't going to let you use rsh, even if you find it. It's

Yes, I already knew that, but had forgotten due to the fact that I always the appropriate environment varialbes set on my linux syste. It has been a long time since I ran cvs on something else.

This probably won't work from a 5250 terminal, because CVS will want
your password for ssh to log in... but if you run it from a real Unix
terminal (I use PuTTY from windows, you could simply use xterm from
Linux) it should work okay.

ssh won't work anytime you connect to a different system due to the fact that it asks if the key is correct. Connecting only to known hosts and using key authentication would probably work, but otherwise using ssh to connect to remote hosts from QP2TERM won't work.

2. ./autogen.sh doesn't work because it can't find autoreconf. Again,
this appears to be a failing of the PASE environment (or my installation
of the tools).

I haven't tried installing these tools on IBM i for PASE... can't
comment there.

While I still can't get ./autogen.sh to work because of missing autoreconf, I am almost done creating autoconf tests for AIX. With appropriate preprocessor variables define we should be able to protect the accept member of the Tn5250Stream structure.

It looks like malloc() isn't the only library function that is weird on AIX. We're going to have to handle snprintf and a couple of others.

if you want to understand why that is, there are many good books on
the design of operating systems. please pass them along to redmond
when you're done reading them :)
