Hi Mark,

Is there any chance you are connecting via "vpnc"? If so you might want
to change the way you call vpnc to this:

vpnc --dpd-idle 0

Thats an issue I ran into not too long ago on my kubuntu 8.04 machine
when I was connecting to a remote iSeries.
